Welcome to DuoPet Universe (the “App”). These Terms of Service / Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern the relationship between you and DuoPet Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) in connection with your use of the App and related services.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.
1. Service Description
The App is a local-first care and life-record tool that brings together different worlds for marine aquariums, freshwater aquariums, insects, companion animals, reptiles, amphibians, and other specialty pets. Features may include records, reminders, statistics, photos, backup, restore, and related management functions.
We may add, adjust, remove, or update features as needed for product development, platform requirements, technical security, or legal compliance.
2. License
Subject to these Terms, DuoPet Studio grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable personal license to use the App on compatible devices that you lawfully control.
Except where mandatory law or applicable open-source licenses provide otherwise, you may not reproduce, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit the App’s software, designs, brands, content, or other protected materials without authorization.
If you obtain the App through Apple App Store, use of the App is also subject to Apple’s applicable Standard EULA and usage rules. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s applicable license rules regarding the Apple-platform license, Apple’s applicable rules and non-waivable legal rights prevail.

3. Accounts and Local-First Use
Core features do not require a DuoPet Studio account.
Some third-party features, such as Google Drive backup or sync, may require you to sign in to or authorize a third-party account. Those accounts are managed by the relevant provider and are subject to that provider’s terms and policies.
4. User Data and Data Control
You are responsible for managing care records, photos, notes, and other content you enter, create, or import, and for ensuring that you have the right to use the content you provide.
The App follows a local-first design and may provide backup, export, restore, or sync capabilities. For important data, you should keep an appropriate backup before changing devices, uninstalling the App, making large changes, or performing other high-risk operations.
We take reasonable steps to maintain data safety and compatibility, but devices, storage media, operating systems, third-party cloud services, and software can fail. We therefore cannot guarantee that data will never be lost under any circumstances.
5. Backup, Restore, and Sync
Backup, restore, and multi-device sync are separate features.
When using these features, you are responsible for confirming that the selected file, device, account, and requested action are correct. For operations that overwrite, merge, or otherwise change existing data, the App will provide reasonable confirmation or safety mechanisms where practicable.
Availability, capacity, sign-in state, network conditions, or service outages affecting Google Drive or other third-party cloud services may affect the corresponding features. Core local functionality does not depend on continuous cloud availability.
6. Health, Care, and Professional Information Disclaimer
Records, reminders, trends, scores, calculations, prompts, and other information provided by the App are intended primarily to support everyday management and observation.
The App does not provide medical or veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or emergency medical services, and no prompt or result is guaranteed to be suitable for every species, individual animal, illness, or environment.
If an animal is ill, injured, poisoned, having difficulty breathing, behaving abnormally, or experiencing another emergency, seek qualified veterinary or other appropriate professional assistance instead of relying solely on App records or prompts.
7. User Inputs and Calculations
Some features may calculate results from values you enter, such as water volume, water quality, concentration, time, weight, equipment, or other parameters.
You are responsible for checking values, units, and current product labeling. Brands, formulations, equipment, species, and environments may differ. For additives, medications, treatment, or other potentially risky actions, rely on current product labeling and appropriate professional guidance.
8. In-App Purchases, VIP, and Subscriptions
The App may offer monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, lifetime entitlements, or other in-app purchases. Available products, prices, billing periods, benefits, and regional availability are shown in the purchase interface and by Apple App Store or Google Play.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew through the original purchase platform according to the selected plan until you cancel through that platform. Cancellation generally stops future renewal; access during a paid period and any refund are governed by the purchase platform and applicable law.
Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
If the App offers Universe VIP, it is an entitlement for DuoPet Universe itself. Exact benefits are disclosed in the purchase interface and do not automatically unlock, transfer, or include paid entitlements for separate DuoPet apps.
A lifetime purchase is a one-time non-consumable digital entitlement and does not require periodic renewal. Its restoration, refund, and continued availability remain subject to the purchase platform, account status, continued availability of the product, and applicable law.

9. Advertising
The App may display advertising provided by third-party advertising services. Advertising content, delivery, and third-party links may be provided by external services.
DuoPet Studio does not guarantee third-party advertisements, websites, products, services, content, or availability. Transactions or interactions between you and a third party are governed by the terms applicable between you and that third party.
10. Prohibited Conduct
When using the App, you may not:
- violate applicable law or third-party platform rules;
- attempt unauthorized access to, damage, or interfere with the App, services, or other users’ data;
- use the App for fraud, malicious activity, abusive automation, or infringement of another person’s rights;
- use DuoPet Studio trademarks, graphics, text, software, or other intellectual property without authorization.
11. Intellectual Property
Except for content created by users or lawfully owned by third parties, rights in the App’s software, design, brand, graphics, text, interface, and related materials belong to DuoPet Studio or its licensors.
These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights that are not expressly granted to you.
12. Third-Party Services
The App may integrate Apple, Google, Google Drive, Google AdMob, operating-system notifications, file pickers, photo selectors, and other third-party services.
Third-party services may change, restrict, interrupt, or discontinue their services and are governed by their own terms and policies. DuoPet Studio cannot control all actions or availability of third-party services.
13. Availability and Updates
We will make reasonable efforts to maintain the App, but we do not guarantee that the App, third-party services, particular devices, or all features will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available.
To maintain security, compatibility, or compliance, the App may require updates, or support for older App versions, operating systems, or third-party services may end.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DuoPet Studio is not liable beyond what the law requires for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss resulting from device failure, third-party service interruption, network conditions, user error, failure to keep backups, incorrect inputs, third-party content, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, limits, or reduces consumer rights, statutory guarantees, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Stopping Use and Termination
You may stop using or uninstall the App at any time, but uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
If a user materially violates these Terms, applicable law, or platform rules, DuoPet Studio may restrict related services or support where legally permitted and reasonably necessary.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms due to changes in features, law, platform rules, or operations. For material changes, we will provide notice through the App, official website, or store information where reasonably practicable.
If applicable law requires separate consent, we will follow that requirement.
17. Governing Law and Mandatory Consumer Rights
To the extent permitted by law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
If the laws of your location provide mandatory consumer protection, refund, withdrawal, statutory warranty, privacy, or other rights that cannot be excluded by contract, those mandatory provisions continue to apply.
18. Languages
These Terms are provided in Traditional Chinese and English as official versions. If the two versions are inconsistent, the Traditional Chinese version is the primary version for interpretation, without limiting rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Automatic translations generated by browsers or other tools are provided only for reading convenience and do not replace the official versions above.
